I just like to write words.
As someone who enjoys writing, I just decided to write more. Luckily for me, the office proofreader turned into part of my career (it also means I can use my big red pen which is nice – I have worked hard on not looking too manic when using it).
I have experience writing for the following:
- Social media copy (including Google AdWords)
- Printed materials
- Short copy for graphics
- Writing for blogs
- Media statements
- Web copy
- Ghost blogging
- Scripts for radio adverts
I have worked with Bristol Water since 2017 and since that time have produced several high quality pieces of long and short copy. I am undergoing several major projects including a company re-brand, and a brand new social media strategy.
My latest piece of copy was for the feature article for our annual magazine, Watertalk, which will be distributed to 1.2 million customers in July. You can take a look at last year’s edition, which I also worked on here
Bristol women's Voice
I have been working with Bristol Women’s Voice since October 2018 where I was a volunteer journalist. The charity focuses on celebrating women throughout Bristol by collecting stories, promoting local events and shining a light on the women who do amazing work in the area. As a journalist specialising in the arts, I organised meetings with local artists, performers and playwrights and interviewed them on their work.
Now, I am working with the charity as a Marketing and Communications Officer, working on their Communications strategy and overlooking the pro-active messaging being pushed out on social media.
As well as my full-time job and volunteering work, I offer my skills up on a freelance basis. This has given me the option to stretch my abilities and write about a huge range of topics. So far, I have written copy for:
- International money transfer websites
- Tennis clubs
